Regis Philbin is having trouble curbing his enthusiasm for producer Gavin Polone.

Philbin has spent a considerable amount of time this week praising Polone on his morning talk show, "Live with Regis and Kelly," according to The Hollywood Reporter, in an attempt to have Polone work on ABC's upcoming "Super Millionaire" specials.

Philbin is returning as the host of "Super Millionaire," a higher-stakes version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" that will air for five nights starting Sunday, Feb. 22.

"I need one guy, Gavin Polone," Philbin said on Tuesday's show. "Gavin Polone is a guy who can solve all problems, and I want him to help me through this week." Philbin used several more minutes of Wednesday's show gushing over the "Gilmore Girls" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" producer.

As it turns out, though, Philbin was mostly joking around after seeing Polone's name in the credits for "Curb." The two haven't met.

"I appreciate Regis' desire to have me help him, but I can't help everybody," Polone tells the Reporter, tongue implanted in cheek. "I'm a very busy man, and I'm sure he'll be fine with whatever lesser producers he manages to hire."

Michael Davies and Paul Smith, executive producers of ABC's first incarnation of "Millionaire," are in the fold for "Super Millionaire" as well.
